There have been several fore runners to today's Blackburn United side, one of the most successful of which were the New Blackburn Athletic Brown Cup winning side of 1966. Season 1980-81 (photo courtesy of Graeme Findlay) saw United take their bow in the Junior grade (see the link to First Season Players) while also pictured are the New Blackburn Athletic squads that defended the Brown Cup in 1967 and that faced the 1970-71 season and the United team that competed during the 1984-85 term, as well as the talented Murrayfield Rovers side of 1946.
