Robert MacMillan County Cup Final
Sunday 26th April 2009
(at Almondvale Stadium, Livingston)
Blackburn United U16's   2
Clarkson 26mins, Graham 48mins
Fauldhouse FCA U16's   1
Greig 54mins
Blackburn started in the ascendency and after Thomas McMaster headed Mark Graham's corner narrowly over  Daniel Campbell came even closer, sending a snap shot just past the right hand post after seeing his initial attempt well blocked. A fine break down the left involving Ryan Gillies and Graham then saw the latter clip in a cross that McMaster fired past. Fauldhouse also threatened but could only offer an overhit Michael Davidson cross which Zain McCarron did well to prevent looping into the roof of his net as a genuine chance. However, fourteen minutes from the break United did deservedly move in front when Campbell's corner from the left was only half cleared and when it was knocked back in centre-half Fraser CLARKSON flicked a boot at it to knock the ball into the Fauldhouse net. Before the break McCarron pulled off a brave double save from Garry Greig to keep the lead intact and Clarkson was only denied his own and Blackburn's second goal when Michael Brown headed his improvised hitch-kick off the line.

The second period opened with United looking to add to their first half opener and a fine second goal duly arrived in forty eight minutes when Campbell burst clear on the right and rolled a square ball across the six yard box for the fast arriving GRAHAM to slide into the net. However, Fauldhouse were back within a goal six minutes later when a long ball forward wasn't cleared properly and GREIG struck a fifteen yarder past McCarron and the same player could have levelled matters moments later but drove his shot from a Graham Stewart pass well wide. A McMaster pop from twenty five yards then forced Gary McCormack into a diving save as United looked for a third before Fauldhouse's last real chance came and went when Stewart hit the side netting from ten yards. With full time fast approaching McMaster set-up Campbell who took a good touch before hitting a shot that McCormack saved. At the final whistle the United players deservedly celebrated a fine win and the healthy Blackburn support acclaimed captain and man of the match Ryan Kelloch as he hoisted the County Cup aloft.

Wilson Cup Final
Blackburn United 3 Fauldhouse FCA 2
At the second time of asking the Under 16's came out on top in the Wilson Cup Final at Beechwood Park in Stoneyburn when a double from Danny Campbell, the first a cool finish when one on one with the keeper and the second an audacious effort from a twenty yard free-kick, either side of a long range effort from Ryan Kelloch was enough to see off a tenacious Fauldhouse FCA side and, in so doing, clinch an almost unprecedented treble of League, County Cup and Wilson Cup.
