Steph McCardie's Testimonial Night
Saturday 28th April 2007
Attacking midfielder Steph McCardie celebrated more than ten seasons at Blackburn United with a Testimonial evening on Saturday 28th April and was presented with an engraved quaich (and something to fill it with!) to commemorate this remarkable milestone. With his team mates turning out in force and a sizeable contingent through from Airdrie the night flew by and the auction of several signed shirts from SPL sides brought excitement and laughs…..as well as puzzlement when Mick Whelan pushed Fraser Roy all the way in the bidding for a Rangers shirt that Frosty eventually landed with the evening's highest bid for any single item! Still, Mick ended up with the autographed Celtic ball so the club treasurer wasn't all that disappointed that he lost the earlier bidding war with the striker! Signed from Lanarkshire side St. Margaret's U21's, Steph has been at Murrayfield Park since 1996 and has made a total of 271 appearances in the United shirt with more still to come…..oh yes, and he's managed to find the net on 30 occasions too!

Sean Brogan gets a text message telling him it's his round!
That's never Steph in a Rangers shirt.....is it?!
It looks like Eddie Mangan got his wires crossed when Mark asked him to score a hat trick!
JR, Paul & Bill prove that you can indeed have too much to drink!
