Season 1995/96
Manager Maurice McCabe and his assistant Duncan Newall brought in a number of new faces to the club, including strikers Mark Campbell from Fauldhouse United and
Davie Galvin
from Blackburn Juveniles, midfielders Kenny McCormack and Mike Cockburn and centre-half Chris Innes. On the transfer list were forwards Gary Buchanan, Brian Fleming and Chris White and goalkeeper Kenny MacDonald.

The campaign started with a 4-1 home defeat by Livingston United (who we eventually met a remarkable seven times during the season) in the sectional stages of the League Cup. However, in the end we could have qualified from the group with a home win over Broxburn Athletic but we were held to a 1-1 draw and Livingston United progressed into the quarter-finals.

The league campaign started badly with only one win coming from the first 11 games but during this period we recorded Cup wins over Arniston Rangers and Bonnybridge which gave optimism for the future. However, defeat by Livingston United (again!) in the Scottish Junior Cup and the Pendreich Steeplejack Cup, along with league defeats at Pumpherston and Broxburn prompted Maurice and Dunny to resign, with the long serving Jim Woods taking the hot-seat.

Woodsie's first match in charge saw a 1-0 win over, yes you've guessed it, Livingston United in the 3rd round of the Fife & Lothian's Cup to set up a tie with Bo'ness United in the quarter-finals, but the Newtown Park men cruised to victory. However, one of Jim's first signings, Chic Geddes, helped strengthen the midfield and form in the league improved with the 11 remaining matches bringing six victories to see the team move well clear of the bottom of the table and finish in tenth spot.

Season 1994/95
Close season arrivals at Murrayfield Park included 18 year-old goalkeeper Derek Watson who was farmed out by St. Mirren, centre-forward Rab McKenna from Royal Albert and centre-half Kevan Dunsmore, who numbered Hamilton Accies amongst his former clubs.

The season started with an unremarkable League Cup showing which saw the side fail to qualify for the knock-out stages of the tournament. Two wins and a draw from the opening five league games saw us sit in the top half of the table come the end of September but thing then started to go badly wrong. Manager Alec 'Kitty' Dunnigan left the club to be replaced by his assistant Maurice McCabe and one of his first tasks was to witness an 8-0 trouncing at the hands of Shotts Bon Accord, Frank McGarvey et al, in the 2nd round of the Scottish Junior Cup. This was quickly followed by the departure of impressive young full-back Kenny Hannah to Alloa Athletic.

In the midst of our worst run of results in the history of the club we succumbed to 10 straight defeats scoring only 6 goals in the process and conceding no less than 45. The run was halted with a 1-1 draw at home to Dalkeith Thistle, courtesy of an own goal, followed by another draw at Broxburn Athletc where Paul McElhone notched a double. The upturn in fortunes continued with wins over Musselburgh Athletic and Edinburgh United and a draw at home to Arniston Rangers, who were so impressed by Roddy MacDonald's performance that they put in a substantial offer for the striker which could not be turned down, and he left to join the Newbyres Park club.

The final three games of the season saw a good 2-0 away win at Recreation Park, Pumpherston, followed by narrow defeats from strong going promotion contenders Haddington Athletic and Bathgate Thistle for a ninth place finish.
