Saturday 23rd May saw the Player of the Year presentations take place in the Bowling Club after the 2-0 home victory against Dunbar United and it was captain Craig Spence who deservedly put his hands on the Player of the Year trophy again for the third time in five years. Another thoroughly merited winner came in the shape of midfield playmaker Alan Brown who won the Player's Player of the Year award for the second successive season and for the fourth time since season 1999/2000. Alan also won Website Player of the Year while striker Andy McQuillan won the inaugural top goalscorer award in recognition of his season's total of fourteen goals. The event also gave Club President Jimmy Robertson the opportunity to officially announce his retiral after 27 years of unstinting service to the club, 26 of them as President. As ever, a big thank you is due to Betty Park and her staff for the excellent buffet that was laid on…..but whether any thanks are due to the players who took to the Karaoke microphone as the evening progressed is another matter entirely!
