The Bowling Club hosted the 2005/06 Player of the Year Dance on Friday 21st April and saw sweeper Craig Spence win the main award for the second year in succession while Chris Donnelly was the Player's Player of the Year. Sadly, Craig couldn't be present to collect the trophy as he was jetting back from the sun just as the first of the starters found their way to Swinger's table. However, fellow Airdrieonian Steph McCardie was more than happy to stand in for him, although whether he kept a hold of the trophy and left Craig in the dark over his success is another matter! Fitness Coach Murray Robertson was the deserved recipient of the Peter Rankine Trophy for all his hard work behind the scenes. As ever thanks go to Betty Park and her catering staff for providing another excellent meal while after dinner speaker Mitchell Gibb went down a storm during his stint at the microphone and, in providing the live music until the last pint was poured at 2:00am, Like Father Like Son made sure the night flew by.
