The Player of the Year Dance at the Bowling Club on Friday 14th May proved to be an entertaining one for all who attended. With Brian Smillie deservedly claiming the Player of the Year award, Neil Fleming receiving the accolade of his fellow players in winning the Player's Player of the Year trophy, Mark Campbell being presented with a mounted ball that had been signed by all the players in recognition of his 100th Blackburn United career goal and Mick Whelan earning the Peter Rankine trophy for his selfless work behind the scenes the evening was topped off by a laughter filled performance by funny man Bert Alan. Although don't be asking Colin Laurie to yodel any time soon.....
