found himself free to head home. Macarthur almost added Blackburn's third four minutes from the break but Inglis was able to beat away his powerful strike. A deserved third goal did arrive before the referees half time whistle though when Gowans delivered a perfectly weighted long pass in front of McQUILLAN who raced clear to clip it past Inglis for an excellent first half hat-trick.
McQuillan curled an effort from the right just over in the early moments of the second period but, barely three minutes later, Blackburn's fourth did arrive when Gowan's mishit effort from twenty yards fell for TRIALIST to fire across the face of Inglis and home. A terrific touch by Macarthur ninety seconds later almost created another goal but Ward was able to scramble the ball past for a fruitless corner. The Trialist then delivered a corner that did bring the fifth when his delivery from the left gave McQUILLAN his fourth of the afternoon with a fine back post header. New signing Gary CALVEY then came off the bench moments later and with almost his first touch of the ball he displayed commendable strength to hold off Harkness and slide his shot underneath Inglis for a debut goal. Two minutes later he then netted Blackburn's seventh and his own second, flicking Scott Mackie's shot cum cross from a Gowans cross behind Inglis. With six minutes remaining the scoring was complete when Fraser Spence darted clear on the left before pulling the ball back from the touchline for McQUILLAN to side foot home his fifth of the game.

Relegated from the East Region Premier League at the end of last season visitors Oakley arrived at the Dem-master Community Stadium as fourth favourites with mcbookies.com to go straight back up but within six minutes they were behind when United's trialist winger skipped past a couple of challenges on the left to square across the six yard box and provide Andy McQUILLAN with an easy tap-in. McQuillan then set strike partner Dean Macarthur clear but Inglis in the Oakley goal just beat him to the through ball before a half hit Aaron Gowans shot was gathered by the 'keeper. Midway through the half the Fifers hit back with something of a spectacular goal, CELENTANO hitting a twenty five yard free-kick over the defensive wall and into the corner of Gavin King's net. However, the scores weren't level for too long and when Gordon Wilson delivered a tempting free-kick McQUILLAN
