towards the bye-line before squaring across the six yard box to where SWAN had continued his run to pick his spot behind Macarthur.
A twenty yard pop by Craig Young that was deflected wide set the tone at the outset of the second half before SWAN hit the right hand post from an incredibly tight angle and watched the ball roll along the goal line before being cleared. John Drummond had to come to the rescue moments later though when Lawrie got caught dithering in possession, crunching into a perfectly timed tackle to prevent Hughes getting a shot away. At the other end it was Swan who was proving a menace again, finding Fraser Spence on the left who slid a ball into the box and in front of Donnelly whose shot was deflected past. On the hour Mildren was both alert and brave to head away a dangerous Kay delivery and repeated the feat from another swirling cross not too many minutes later. A right to left cross field pass then put Swan in once more and his little dink in front of Young arriving on the left was fired just over the top by the midfielder. Macarthur then blocked a Swan shot after the little front man chased down a Gavin McQuillan clearance but the second goal was coming and duly arrived from the head of substitute Andy McQUILLAN six minutes from time when he pealed off onto the back post to nod home Swan's pin point delivery. Four minutes later the scoring was complete and the points secured when DONNELLY steadied himself to bullet a glorious twenty yarder past the diving Macarthur.

With Ross Donnelly restored up front but with Andy McQuillan only fit enough for a place on the bench Blackburn travelled the short distance east for this local derby and were on the back foot instantly, Gavin McQuillan instinctively blocking Townsley's near post shot from a Conlon cross before punching away the follow up delivery from the same player. The early storm weathered Martin Lawrie set up Blackburn's first incisive move forward, sending David Swan clear and he took a terrific first touch to bring the ball under control only to be thwarted by Macarthur diving at his feet as he tried to round him. Swan then got on the end of a move involving Ewan Herriot and Aaron Gowans but his parting shot was deflected over by Russell for a fruitless corner. However, the opener arrived shortly thereafter, James Mildren arrowing a long ball forward for Swan to flick in front of Donnelly who made his way
