Kirkcaldy YM 1
Blackburn United 4
Spence 1min, Drummond 25mins, Donnelly 80mins, Campbell 90+3mins
Campbell but when the ball arrived in the middle McQuillan headed wide.
Seven minutes after the resumption yet another Young corner caused consternation amongst the home sides backline and Grubb had to clear James Mildren's header from off the line before, just ahead of the hour mark, Swan danced clear of Macduff on the left to pick out Campbell arriving in he box but Mushet was able to block his shot with his feet. On the hour United then had loud penalty appeals waved away when Drummond appeared to be pushed in the back as he junped for a Young corner and, within two minutes, the hosts were back in the game, a long Grubb free-kick dropping into the Blackburn box where Drummond was able to head clear only as far as SMALL loitering on the edge of the area and his first time effort flew over the head of Gavin King and into the roof of the net. However, ten minutes from time Campbell worked hard to earn time on the right and when his cross arrived in the area a terrific, looping header from substitute Ross DONNELLY arced over a flat footed Mushet and into the net. Young then hit the side netting from a Swan delivery and Mushet pulled off a diving, fingertip save from an angled Fraser Cormack drive before, in the final minute of added time, CAMPBELL dived at a Young free-kick to head the ball beyond Mushet for the games final goal.

With almost exactly sixty seconds on the clock Andy McQuillan was tenacious in a midfield challenge to allow David Swan to hare clear on the right and when he checked inside the full back to lift a cross onto the back post Fraser SPENCE was on hand to capatalise and put United ahead. At the other end Linton's corner was only half cleared but Small's half volley wasn't as accurate as needed. Little more than a minute later McQuillan turned into space on the left and clipped a delivery across the face of goal where Aaron Gowans was on hand to net, only for the referee to adjudge him to have crept offside. In just about a carbon copy of the move McQuillan then set up Gowans again and this time the youngster found Swan with a square ball but his parting shot was too high. The second United goal, though, did eventually arrive when John DRUMMOND was on hand to turn home a deep Craig Young corner from the right. Before the interval another corner was worked shor t between Young and Danny
